Manta Ray Anyone?

Ocean Adventures

Manta ray anyone? During a recent filming excursion, we came across a manta ray and had to film it! You better believe that it’s in this video and one of the main features. I have been doing more filming recently and attempting to build up my video content. I always seem to share photos and while those are great, they do not show the whole story, which is one reason why I love video.

One of my Christmas presents this year was super unexpected but definitely welcome. I received a underwater housing for my Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera, so now I can take my 6K camera under water. Now that I have this vital piece of equipment, I can start showing you all some of the amazing ocean adventures I go on. Trust me, there will be plenty of vlogs in the future… among other things. :D

The Documentary Project

For several months, I have been working on a documentary project that I am sure is going to be epic one way or another. I cannot give any details because it is a secret for now. However, it is an adventure of its own because I have no idea how it will actually turn out. It depends on a few different factors, which makes it all the more exciting! However, the project was slowed down mostly due to Covid-19 restrictions on Oahu. We have a little team together working on this one. When the idea first came about, we were able to meet in person, then things shut down a second time and when Oahu reopened, the restriction has been that people could only gather with their own household while in public. Not to mention that some public places have been closed and were finally reopened a few months back. Needless to say, it has been challenging to get this project going with Covid-19.

Recently, we were able to start making some headway on the project. There has been some rigging that needed to happen prior to really getting a good start on anything. With that mostly behind us, for now, at least, we have been able to make some baby steps in the right direction. It feels good to be out filming again and doing something that is so exciting. I wish I could share more details with you, but I’ll have to keep those under wraps for now.

Mini Series

In the meantime, I have created a new playlist on YouTube that I will make installments to of small short videos of adventures around the island(s) and some of these videos will be shot alongside the documentary project. This video above is the first installment and was filmed while working on the documentary. It is super short (about a minute long) because I am going off of the Instagram feed requirements for these videos. Still, a minute is just long enough to make some really short and cool videos. If you haven’t subscribed to the YouTube channel yet, make sure you do and hit the bell for notifications when I upload some new content.
